Have you burnt in your Inner fire? - by Shama (Guide of Women's Inner Fire Yoga)

I got down to cooking my lunch today, all the ingredients were in place! The veggies were nicely chopped up. I placed them neatly on the pan and I stirred. As I continued to stir, something felt supremely off. The veggies continued to retain their form, no spluttering of the oil, the dissolution of the ingredients wasn’t taking place, only for me to realize there was no heat. The gas had gone out.

Yet I continued stirring, staring intently at the  tossings of these raw ingredients on the pan.

A realization was dawning and I didn’t want to to interrupt the process. So I played along until the full realization descended la

The reckoning was this: In order for something to be transformed and to be useable, the catalyst is always the fire.

This holds true with cooking food, burning gas or wood to give off heat, the burning of engine fuel to give motion to the automobile.

The same holds true for our bodies as well. The body temperature that is maintained in the body, which is crucial for our existence isn’t merely a temperature, it is an invisible heat current that keeps every process moving within, like a hidden sun!

Fire application in our Internal worlds.

Body Warmth keeps blood moving like a river instead of thickening into a swamp. Heat allows muscles contraction and relaxation to happen smoothly, without it the body would become stiff and brittle in an instant, as experienced in frost. The internal fire catalyst present in the stomach  produces the necessary condition for the food to be processed into something edible and useable by the body.

Everything in the physical world requires the application of fire.

Fire is integral in the application of two objects merging.

Why should that effect be any different when it comes to our inner workings.

The raw cut vegetables are akin to all the mystical guidelines, and practices one may have received from nature or human sources.

Point is we can have all those teachings nicely placed on our lap, on our shrines. But when it comes to the integration of those teachings within us, the actual purpose of those teachings will only unfold with the application of the universal catalyst, the lighting of the fire.

The heart center is the gas stove and the breath is the matchstick. Once the mystic fire is lit, it is capable of dissolving all forms of knowledge and teachings by great mystics,  to something executable by the inner psyche. Without the lighting of the heart center fire, all teachings and practices become non functional the inner world. They become mere ornaments to our ego.

The fire lighting is an essential pre- requisite to both the outer and the inner transformation. The physical world can be the basis to bring about a combustion in our inner mystical world. As within, so without.

Fiery Relationships

Sometimes two people meet to bring about this necessary combustion, to light an inner fire, that may happen through passion, through disagreements, through incompatibility, but the purpose remains in lighting that heart fire.

Many a times unpleasant events occur in our lives, that bring about this effect of lighting of this very mystical inner fire, in-spite of our utter reluctance, almost by force.

It’s not about how that fire got ignited, it’s about how you tend to this fire, and keep it from going off.

This mystic fire of the heart  guides, it paves the way to an inner dimension, it makes seen what was until now hidden, it opens one’s inner eyes, it makes our inner world visible, one no longer walks in the dark. Inner fire serves its purpose,  transforms.

As this flame within is nurtured, it simultaneously becomes the silent nurturer.

It bears the torch and leads one through the dark alleys of this vast inner dimension, bringing light, warmth and wisdom every step of the way.

This inner fire in its infancy is easily blown out by the mind winds, hence the tending and nurturing of this infant flame is vital. Nurturing the flame with continued awareness in the heart center and constant igniting of the flame through the breath amidst daily activities keeps the mystic flame blazing. Then whether night or day, an inner light and warmth is always accessible to one.

As within so without.  The inner flame tends your external world too. Inner Light reflects into your external workings, into your relationships and all other mirages of the day to day life.

Take from it what you may, or better yet, light  a sacred fire in your heart and taste the flavors of all your unintegrated wisdom, thus far, begin to come to life.
